4th DAKIS annual meeting

On May 17th and 18th, 2022, the 4th DAKIS annual meeting took place at the Leibniz Center for Agricultural Landscape Research (ZALF) in Müncheberg, this year even as a face-to-face event. The scientists of the 10 participating research institutions in the DAKIS project have intensively discussed the current status of the project and the resulting challenges for the next two project years: In the last 3 years, the complex components of the desired decision support system (decision support systems – DSS ) identified and data and information flows worked out. In close cooperation with the members of the DAKIS project advisory board from different industries and taking into account the first results, a practical approach based on so-called “use cases” was selected for the further development of the DSS. A first use case deals with the identification and development of measures for grassland buffer strips; further use cases for landscape elements such as hedges or agroforestry systems are in progress. In addition to the complex structure of the DSS, the different data structures and the rule-based information generation are central challenges for the next two project years. In addition to workshops and lectures, the participants were able to get an overview of the small-scale cultivation systems envisaged in DAKIS during a visit to the patchCROP field in Tempelberg.
