It goes on! Grant notification received for the follow-up financing of DAKIS2

The DAKIS joint project receives follow-up funding under the name DAKIS2.

After almost 5 years of project duration, the DAKIS team can look back on great successes: Numerous scientific publications, trademark applications, software and research components (including MODAM, SIMPLACE; EROSPOT, patchCrop) combined in the DAKIS prototype, workshops, trade fairs and close cooperation with various stakeholder groups from research & development, politics, consulting and, above all, agriculture characterise the project.

This work will be rewarded and appreciated with a second funding phase starting on 1 January 2025.

Both existing and new project partners are involved:

  • the Leibniz Centre for Agricultural Landscape Research (ZALF),
  • the Leibniz Institute for Agricultural Engineering and Bioeconomy,
  • the University of Bonn,
  • the Jülich Research Centre,
  • the Bavarian State Research Centre for Agriculture,
  • the German Research Centre for Artificial Intelligence,
  • Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences,
  • the Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development and
  • the Fraunhofer Society

A total of around 40 people are involved.

The DAKIS team, led by Prof. Dr Sonoko Bellingrath-Kimura, would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who was and is involved in the realisation and development of the project. The established close co-operation with external partners will also be continued in the DAKIS2 project. The existing DAKIS prototype is to find its way into industry and practice beyond the borders of Brandenburg and Bavaria, be thoroughly tested and further developed.

We are delighted to be able to continue working on this pioneering project for modern, sustainable and climate-resilient agriculture.
